
Marco Marcelletti
Bio
In 2009, at the age of 10 years old, Marco started to take piano lessons with Angelo Trabucco, at the "Scuola Civica Musicale" of San Giovanni Teatino (CH), the town where he grew up.
At 16 years old he was exceptionally admitted for a Bachelor program at "Conservatorio L. D'Annunzio" of Pescara, while still completing High School. At the conservatory, he received piano lessons from Carlo Morena and Luca Mannutza.
In the meanwhile, he attended some clinics and masterclasses, such as "Berklee Summer School at Umbria Jazz Clinics'' in 2016, "Nuoro Jazz Clinics" in 2017 and "Atri Music Camp", in 2016 and 2017, during which he met pianist Ramberto Ciammarughi. He took lessons from him for the next three years, while he also started taking classical piano lessons with Marco Fumo, with whom he studied for three years as well.
In 2019, Marco was selected for an Erasmus+ program at the "Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles", where he studied with Eric Legnini.
During the next academic year he graduated from "Conservatorio L. D'Annunzio" with 110/110 e lode (with highest honours), and started a Master program in Jazz Piano at "Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel", where he received instrument lessons from Diederik Wissels and Stéphane Galland, and classical piano lessons from Katleen Sedeyn. In 2022 he graduated cum laude with a great distinction from "Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel". In 2023 he graduated cum laude in a specialized master program from "Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles", with an in-depth research on the music of Wayne Shorter. In 2024, he took part in the recording of the album "Spellbound", from the saxophone player Attilio Sepe.
During his studies, he attended masterclasses with: Kenny Barron, Bill Frisell, Benny Golson, Kenny Werner, Peter Bernstein, Philip Dizack, Chris Potter, Otmaro Ruiz, Benito Gonzalez, Wynton Marsalis and Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Kevin Harris, Piotr Wylezol, Enrico Pieranunzi, Dado Moroni.
He had private lessons with: Sullivan Fortner, Aaron Parks, Eric Legnini, Stéphane Galland, Ramberto Ciammarughi, Diederik Wissels, Luca Mannutza, Carlo Morena, Claudio Filippini, Angelo Trabucco.
He was lucky enough to share the stage with: Eliott Knuets, Peter Hertmans, Fabrice Alleman, Stéphane Chausse, Tolga Bilgin, Maurizio Giammarco.
He played for venues and festivals such as: "Brussels Jazz Weekend", "Klarafestival", "JazzAscona", "Tolentino Jazz", "SanGiò Jazz", "Teate Winter Fest", "Nuoro Jazz".
At the moment he is based in Brussels, involved in several musical projects between Belgium and Italy.
