Four misfits breaking free from the grind, channeling their fury into heavy, gut-punching riffage. Lost Baron fuses Metal with Hardcore intensity, delivering a sound that’s as raw as it is dynamic.

The Journey

Formed in 2014, Lost Baron began as a four-piece with Jannick Verlinde (guitar/vocals), Bert Dewaele (guitar/vocals), Koen Huyghe (bass), and Dieter Lafaut (drums). United by their passion for all things heavy, the band carved out a unique sound that merged stoner with the razor-sharp ferocity of metal.

Their debut ‘Kelder EP’ (2015) laid the groundwork for their style, earning them a loyal following among stoner devotees and metalheads alike. Local gigs soon turned into an ever-growing list of shows.

Building on this momentum, Lost Baron released ‘Bastard Blood’ in 2017. Recorded and produced by Martin Furia (Destruction, Bark),

the EP delivered a heavier, more metal-oriented sound. Critics and fans alike praised its crushing wall of sound, propelling the band to stages at renowned events like:

• Roadkill Festival

• Trix (opening for Your Highness, Godsmack aftershow)

• Fleddypalooza (AB Brussels)

• Ieperfest

• Antwerp Metal Fest

The EP’s standout track ‘Color the Blind’ received a live video at Fleddypalooza, while their follow-up single ‘Indifference’ debuted with a cinematic video in 2018, showcasing their ability to deliver more than just brute force.

A New Era

In 2022, Koen (Bass) decided to leave the band, so Lost Baron reinvented themselves as a lean, three-piece metal powerhouse. The band’s full-length album ‘Dark Messiah’, produced once again by Martin Furia and released by PolderRecords, marks a defining chapter in their evolution. The record’s crushing riffs and dynamic compositions cement their position as one of the rising forces in the heavy music scene. Shortly after its release, bassist Thomas D’Hondt (Darqo) joined, allowing Bert to return to guitar, reintroducing Lost Baron as a more formidable four-piece.

Looking Ahead

With new material already in the works, Lost Baron continues their relentless drive to expand their sonic horizons and grow their presence in the metal communities.
